Norse Loop
For our second hike at Ski Sante Fe in the Sante Fe National Forest we choose the Norski Loop Trail (this trail is restricted to skiers in winter/snow season). We did the loop in a clockwise direction, including going to the view area at Overlook Meadow, about 3 miles and 300 ft of overall gain. Although most of the aspen trees had lost their leaves, we did find some full of golden color. We also saw yarrow in bloom and some red leaves.
Ravens Ridge Trail
This morning we drove up to Ski Sante Fe (10,300 ft altitude), it was cold with a light layer of intermittent snow. For our first hike, we went part way up the Ravens Ridge Trail to a viewpoint, shortly after entering the Pecos Wilderness. About 3.3 miles round trip with 1,050 ft of gain. The trail was in the forest with a few peekaboo views of the ski area until we reached the area with the view.
