Mansard Trail

We did a late afternoon hike up the Mansard Trail east of Kanab, Utah. This is a 5 mile round trip hike with 1,000 ft of gain. We were the only ones on this trail afternoon/evening.
There were some interesting rock formations along the way.

The trail climbs up the ridge on the west side.
There is a short scramble along the way.
The trail continues north along the ridge.

We enjoyed the views of the large rock formations around us.
Once on top, the trail turns toward the west.
For a short distance, we followed the ATV road to the rock art.

The Mansard rock art has large slides and petroglyphs on the floor




















We hiked back down to the ledge with windows to watch the sun go down.





And then continued hiking down during the dusk
