Went up to Sunrise to hike out to the three Burroughs Mountains and decided to add in Lookout at Mount Fremont. Took the Sunrise Rim Trail to the Burroughs, then to Mont Fremont Lookout and back to Sunrise via the Sourdough Ridge, overall hike was about 12 miles with 2,900 ft in elevation gain (lots of ups and downs). I like hiking out to the Burroughs via the Sunrise Trail because you have a view of Mt Rainier for most of the hike out.View near the parking area.
View early on in the trail.
About 1 mile from the parking area lies Shadow Lake.
Pano from the viewpoint at Glacier Overlook a short ways further along the Sunrise Rim Trail. Great views looking down into Glacier Basin
Sunrise Rim Trail continuing up to First Burroughs
There are still wildflowers in bloom along the trails.
