Twobit Peak

We went to the Phoenix Mountain Reserve to get in an early hike before the day became hot. Our destination was Twobit Peak, 2.5 miles round trip with 900 ft of elevation gain. We started soon after dawn, and could see some color to the east, before the mountains blocked our view.

The first part of the hike is fairly flat.
We began to see some colorful skies to the west as we were hiking.

Some lovely saguaro cacti

Sign to Twobit, which is hidden from view here.

The sky to the west continued to be colorful as we hiked up the steeper and rocky trail.

Almost to the top.

View to the southeast as we continued up.
The sun rose over the peak, before I made it up on top.

Views from the top of Twobit:

Looking back up at Twobit, as we hike back down the trail.
