This afternoon (after hiking in Yosemite National Park this morning), we drove part way up the Saddlebag Lake Road, a short way down from Tioga Pass. We parked at the Gardisky Lake Trailhead and hiked up to Gardisky Lake, about 2 miles round trip with 800 ft of gain. We saw abut 10 other hikers on this trail this afternoon.

View near the trailhead, before hiking up through the forest. The first part of the trail is steep gaining 670 ft in 1/2 mile.

We had some breaks though the trees and had this mountain views in the opposite direction from the lake.

After the first 1/2 mile the trail was much easier, view towards Tioga Peak.
First view of Gardiski Lake, at 10,500 ft,
some views as we walked the trail at the lake

We then retuned back down the trail, enjoying some mountain views on our way down.
