Kanarra Falls

We were fortunate to get permits to hike up Kanarra Falls yesterday morning so we could do this hike today. The hike is in the town of Kanarraville Utah. The "trail"  goes into a slot canyon, to two waterfalls with lots of walking in Kanarra Creek. Overall 4 miles round trip with 700 ft of gain.
Information sign at trailhead

The first part of the trail is up a closed road.

The route is very well marked.

We headed into red rock country.

Part of the trail is on dirt and rocks and other parts are walking across or up Kanarra Creek, the water was very cold!

I loved the slot canyon portion of the trail.

Looking straight up in one of the narrow sections of the canyon.

The first waterfall and ladder to continue up the canyon

part of the creek, the trail goes up to the right of the boulder on the right.
A little scrambling is needed here.

The trail opens up for a while.

There were some signs of fall in the leaves turning color.

The trail would narrow and widen again.

A very narrow squeeze between these boulders.

More of Kanarra Creek that is not counted as waterfalls.

Love the red rock walls in this canyon.

The canyon narrows again near the end of where we are allowed to hike

A very tight and slippery area coming up.

The end is at sight, the "Second" waterfall.

Now we have the fun of returning through the canyon again!

And back to where we began, great day!
