Laurentian Overlook

Our third stop along the Gunflint Trail today was at the Lauentian Overlook. This is a continental drainage boundary, a ridge where the water to the north drains into Hudson Bay and the Arctic, the water to the south drains into the Great Lakes or the Gulf of Mexico. We found the area covered in trees, so we took the very short path down to Birch Lake, we saw a few wildflowers in bloom here.
