Glacier Basin

I drove up to the White River Day Use Parking Area at Mt Rainier National Park to hike the Glacier Basin Trail, 6.5 miles rt/1,600 ft of gain. A ver spring in the mountains day: started out cloudy, some drizzling rain, snowing above 5,000 ft, and partial sunny up at Glacier Basin. The sky cleared up more as I was hiking back down the trail with some views of Mt Rainier. There were wildflowers in bloom along the trail, most were either wet or icy. View of Glacier Basin
This is a forest hike, with some areas with views. The streams were flowing with lots of small waterfalls along the trail.
View of Goat Island Mountain about a mile up the trail across the Inter Fork
A partial view of Mt Rainier further up the trail
A small open area along the trail with lots of bluebells in bloom

Another partial view of Mt Rainer and creeks along the trail, one crossing the trail
Some snowy views as the trail gained elevation

some views of Mt Rainier as I hiked down the trail and a zoom of Little Tahoma
After returning to the parking lot, I took the short trail down to the White River for another view of Mt Rainier
