Mineral Point and Lost Lake
We drove to the Picnic Area of Mineral Point (at the end of Mineral Point Road 532A) on Lake Pend Oreille in the Idaho Panhandle National Forest. We made a 4 mile loop hike out of part of the Mineral Point and the Lost Lake Trails. We headed north from the Mineral Point Picnic Area to the Mineral Point Trailhead #82, taking the Mineral Point Trail to the Lost Lake Trail to the Short Cut Trail to Mineral Point Road 532A and back to the parking area. We then did the short side trip to the memorial along the Mineral Ridge Trail heading west, and back. Beautiful forest hike with lots of wildflowers in bloom and some views of Lake Pend Oreille along the way.
