Avalanche Lake
We drove to the Trail of the Cedars Trailhead in Glacier National Park this morning to hike the Trail of the Cedars Loop with the Avalanche Lake Trail (5 miles/700 ft overall gain). Beautiful trail with gorgeous views at the lake.
We started up the Trail of Cedars, view of a distant peak while crossing Avalanche Creek at the beginning of our hike
Beautiful forest with rock formations along the Trail of the Cedars
Gorgeous gorge of Avalanche Creek just before the junction of the Avalanche Lake Trail
Views of Avalanche Creek in the rocky gorge near the beginning of the Avalanche Lake Trail
Peak seen about midway up the forested trail
Views at Avalanche Lake
A stellar jay and a deer seen near the lake
Some views seen along the other side of the Trail of the Cedars when we retuned from Avalanche Lake
View of a peak seen through the trees
a couple of the wildflowers we saw along the trail
