Iron Bear

We drove out towards the Iron Creek Trailhead at the end ofFR 9714 this morning, stopping about 0.25 below the trailhead to avoid crossing a stream on the road. Our route was 6.75 miles round trip with 1,830 ft of overall gain. We saw lots of wildflowers in bloom all along the trail and only saw 4 other hikers. Fabulous wildflower hike! Some of the views along the trail:
Up at Iron Bear Pass, where the trail joins with Teanaway Ridge Trail, I was surprised to see how many trees were damaged and removed due to the storms last winter
Views across the Teanaways with a distant Mt Rainier and a zoom of Mt Rainier above the clouds
Views up on Iron Bear
Some of the wildflowers we saw along thet trail today
