Cape Lookout Trail

We drove to Cape Lookout State Park on the Oregon Coast to do the Cape Lookout Trail, 4.8 miles with 800 ft of overall loss/gain. This trail is through a coastal forest on top of a narrow cape jutting into the Pacific Ocean. We didn't see any other hikers until we were on our way back.  One of the views to the south through the trees along the trail.
The first part of the trail was on a lovely path, gently descending through the forest.

We saw some large trees.

A view of the coast to the south from along the trail.

About half way down the trail, there was a view area over Wells Cove, looking towards the north.

After this the trail became wet and muddy in places,

and there were some large roots to step over.
Near  the end of the trail looking south,
and southwest.

View at the end of the trail, to the south,

and to the west (seeing a very small bit across the huge Pacific Ocean).
