Clarno Unit John Day Fossil Beds National Monument
This morning we drove to the Palisades Picnic Area in the Clarno Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. From here, we hiked the 3 linked short trails here: Geologic Time Trail, Trail of Fossils, and Clarno Arch for a combined 1.3 miles round trip with 190 ft of overall gain.
