Our second hike this morning in the Upper area of Bandelier National Monument was to the Upper Frijoles Canyon Overlook. We took the blue route, which was a short double loop through the forest totaling 2 miles with minimal gain. We were happy to see both summer wildflowers and fall colors.

The trail went through a section of golden aspens.

On the trail back, we saw dark clouds gathering over Cerro Grande, where we were earlier today.
