Deer Ridge

 Drove out to the west side of Sequim on the north side of the Olympic Peninsula to hike the Deer Ridge Trail. This trail goes up to Deer Park for a 10.5 mile round trip with 2,800 ft of elevation gain.  On the lower part of the trail, the rhododendrons are in bloom.



 About 2.75 miles up the trail, the trees open up for views of Gray Wolf Ridge.





 The trail continues to climb, about 3.5 miles, the trail enters Olympic National Park, with almost continuous views to the Olympic Mountains to the south.





 There were lots of wildflowers in bloom along this upper portion of the trail.





 We were greeted by deer when we entered Deer Park.
 Today, the views were often obscured by clouds.
 7 deer surrounded us as we were eating lunch.
