Broken Top and Buffalo Cave Hike in Craters of the Moon National Park

Our second hike in Craters of the Moon National Park was the Broken Top trail with Buffalo Cave. This is a 1.8 mile loop trail.

Buffalo Caves are part of the lava tube system of the Broken Top flow.













We entered the cave

and needed our headlamps to see

Back on the trail, we could see where parts of the cave roof are crumbling.
