Iron Peak

We drove out to the Teanaways to the Iron Peak Trailhead (outside of the fire closure area) to hike up to Iron Peak on a beautiful day. We stopped short of the summit, where we had glorious views and avoided the last partly sketchy exposed trail to the top. Our stats 6.5 miles round trip with 2.450 ft of gain. We saw a few wildflowers in bloom and only four other hikers on this trail today. On our drive to the trailhead, a flock of turkeys crossed the road where we also had a lovely view of Mount Stuart
The trail up to El Dorado Pass is mostly forested with some views along the way, here we saw Esmeralda and Fortune Peaks
View of Teanaway Peak above the trees
Views on El Dorado Pass to the east
to the southeast Iron Peak
To the southwest with a distant Mt Rainier and Mt Adams also zooms of Rainier and a hazy Adams
to the northwest a distant Mt Daniel
Heading up Iron Peak and looking back down at El Dorado Pass, Teanaway Peak and partial view of Mount Stuart

some of the wildflowrs and fall color we saw along the trail today
a reminder on the trail that we love hiking
