We drove down to the end of the West Boulder Road south of Big Timber Montana to hike up to Lost Lakes along the Lost Creek Trail #212. This was about 5 miles round trip with 900 ft of overall gain. We did not see any other people on these trails today. The trail starts along a closed road athlete end of the parking lot,

and then follow the West Boulder Trail #41 for a little over a mile.

Small pond along the trail

We saw some nice fall color today.

The trail enters the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness before splitting off to the east up the Lost Creek Trail.

Some of the aspen trees have turned golden.

Some nearby views as we climbed up the Lost Creek Trail.

The trail goes up and over a ridge at 6,300 ft and then descends down into the lake basin.
