On our way home form Sauer's Mountain, we decided to stop and see how the conditions were along the Ingalls Creek Trail, we were able to hike up the trail for 2 miles before post holing 10", that is when we decided to turn back. The trail would alternate from large snow patches to bare trail off and on for about 2 miles. We hiked 4 miles with about 600 ft of gain. We didn't see any other hikers while we were on the trail.

A short ways down the trail, we entered the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.

I was surprised to find a patch of paintbrush in bloom this early here.

Lovely color in Ingalls Creek

where the snow had melted we saw hundreds of glacier lilies lining the trail
