Bear Gap to Bullion Basin Loop
We drove up to Crystal Mountain Resort near Mt Rainier National Park to hike up to Bear Gap on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) via the Silver Creek Trail, thne north along the PCT for 2 miles, descending down through Bullion Basin and back to the beginning, 7.6 miles with 2,000 ft of overall gain. We saw lots of wildflowes, some great views and more PCT hikers than day hikers. About 1/2 way between Bullion Basin and the trailhead, we saw a small black bear run across the trail in front of us.
