Arizona Trail from the Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead

This morning we drove to the Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead southeast of Tucson, and hiked a very short ways along the Arizona Trail heading south to the freeway underpass, 3 miles round trip with 130 ft of overall gain.

There are distant mountains all around this area.

we were mostly hiking through creosote bushes, but there were cacti here also.
