
We drove to the Painted Canyon Overlook in the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park for our lunch break and to hike down to the Painted Canyon Nature Trail, 1 mile with 200 ft gain on the way back up. Views from the Overlook before hiking down the trail:
Once we reached the loop portion of the trail, we went clockwise, we started in the woods.
