We were fortunate to get Self-Guided Fiery Furnace Permits in Arches National Park. We followed the semi-marked loop route and went into the 2 marked dead ends as well as exploring some of the other dead ends. We did 2+ miles of "trail" and scrambling.I would not have attempted this without my sister, who has desert off route scrambling experience. View of the Fiery Furnace at sunset (we were to only explore the area between sunrise and sunset).

We took the rangers advise and went counterclockwise along the "route".

So many lovely rock formations along the way!

There are many tight squeezes.

Towering rock formations reflecting in a small puddle.
