
We drove to Walnut Canyon National Monument to hike the 1 mile Island Trail. Looking down into Walnut Canyon near the trailhead.

A wall of the canyon juts out into the canyon, the trail goes out and circles this "island".

There are over twenty ancient ruins along this trail.

Across from the "island" on both sides of the canyon are many more ruins.
We saw a few paintbrush in bloom
