Drove out to Quilcene to hike up Mount Walker today. There was no snow anywhere on Mount Walker. The road was gated close to Hwy 101, making this a 5.5 mile round trip with 2,000 ft of elevation gain. The first 0.25 was walking up to the trailhead from the gate. From here it is 2 miles with 2,000 ft of gain up to the Northviewpoint. 1/2 way up this trail is a sign letting you know you have gone 1/2 way and are at 1,800 ft of altitude.

Except for the two viewpoints, this trail is all in the woods. There was only one tree on the trail that needed to be scrambled over.

View form the North Viewpoint looking northeast towards some cloud covered Olympic Peaks.

View to the northwest from the North Viewpoint, Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan in the far distance.

From the north viewpoint to the south viewpoint is 1/2 mile, along the way, I saw this Olympic Peak through the trees. (zoom)
