Hex Mountain
We drove to the Sasse Mountain Trail #1340 near Cle Elum Lake to hike up to Hex Mountain, 5 miles round trip with 1,400 ft of overall gain. We had lovely views and a variety of wildflowers on a sunny day. We only saw one other hiker and no motorbikes today. The trail is a mixture of open forest, old burn area and open slopes on Hex Mountain. We had views of Cle Elum Lake many areas of this hike
There were many wildflowers in bloom including scarlett gilia and buckwheat as seen here
View of Hex Mountain as we neared the top
Views from the top of Hex Mountain, looking eastward along the route we hiked up
View to the northeast, with zooms of Mount Stuart and other Enchantment Peaks
View to the northwest with a zoom of Mt Hinman and Mt Daniel
View to the southwest Cle Elum Lake and a zoom of Mt Rainier
We also saw butterflies
