Ruby Beach
We drove to Ruby Beach on the Pacific Coast in Olympic National Park this morning for low tide. There is a short 0.25 mile trail down to the beach through the woods, then there are many rocky tidal pools and sea stacks to explore. It was very foggy all morning, but the sea life was easy to see. Fabulous morning with the grandkids! Some of what we saw this morning:

Marymere Falls
We drove to the Marymere Falls Trailhead along Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park this afternoon to hike up to Marymere Falls, 1.8 miles round trip with 186 ft of gain. View of Marymere Falls from the lower and upper viewpoints:

Snoqualmie Falls
We drove to the East Parking lot by the SAlish Lodge between Fall City and Snoqualmie to visit Snoqualmie Falls. After viewing the falls from Upper Viewpoints, we hiked down to the Lower Viewpoint. We were picked up at the lower parking lot, making our hike 0.7 miles with 350 ft of descent.

Sunrise Rim Trail
We drove up to Sunrise at Mt Rainier National Park and did a loop hike going from the parking area up the Sunrise Rim Trail to Shadow Lake and then up to the Glacier Overlook a short ways on the Burroughs Trail, returning to the parking area via the Sunrise Campground Trail. overall 3.25 miles/360 ft gain. A beautiful day, with gorgeous views of Mt Rainier.
